SMT Training known as SMT Beauty Academy (SMTBA) is one of the largest private educational establishments in South Africa and was founded in 2007. We offer unique educational programmes covering all aspects of Beauty, Nail, Makeup and Hair therapy including advanced courses such as; Laser, IPL and Aesthetics. 

Our internationally and Nationally renowned Hair and Beauty courses are for those who dream to be professional high fashion make-up artists and excel in the beauty industry.

SMT Beauty Academy offers both full-time and part-week flexible courses, and students may choose either a complete beauty therapy course, clustered modules or an individual module. SMT Academy is an “adult learning environment”, our students are 18+ and are interested in studying in a mature, professional manner. 

All SMT tutors have a minimum of 5 years of industry experience as therapists/salon managers, and all hold recognised international registered teaching qualifications.

Our staff compliment comprises of Facilitators, Assessors and Moderators Nationally and Internationally.

Our professional make-up team all have over a decade’s worth of industry experience working internationally on fashion publications, catwalk shows and music videos, whilst also holding recognised teaching qualifications. 

Career advice and interview techniques are offered to those attending our courses. The school is inundated with requests from companies within the beauty and make-up industry for our graduates; we have an excellent reputation for the high level of therapist that we produce.
