SMT Training known as SMT Beauty Academy (SMTBA) is one of the largest private educational establishments in South Africa and was founded in 2007. We offer unique educational programmes covering all aspects of Beauty, Nail, Makeup and Hair therapy including advanced courses such as; Laser, IPL and Aesthetics. 

Our internationally and Nationally renowned Hair and Beauty courses are for those who dream to be professional high fashion make-up artists and excel in the beauty industry. 

SMT Beauty Academy offers both full-time and part-week flexible courses, and students may choose either a complete beauty therapy course, clustered modules or an individual module. SMT Academy is an “adult learning environment”, our students are 18+ and are interested in studying in a mature, professional manner. 

All SMT tutors have a minimum of 5 years of industry experience as therapists/salon managers, and all hold recognised international registered teaching qualifications.

Our staff compliment comprises of Facilitators, Assessors and Moderators Nationally and Internationally.

Our professional make-up team all have over a decade’s worth of industry experience working internationally on fashion publications, catwalk shows and music videos, whilst also holding recognised teaching qualifications. 

Career advice and interview techniques are offered to those attending our courses. The school is inundated with requests from companies within the beauty and make-up industry for our graduates; we have an excellent reputation for the high level of therapist that we produce.

Our Classes

We offer full time/Part time/Evening and weekend classes.   SMT Training offers Distance Learning and Contact Learning. All our packages are tailor made to suit the work industry and students are welcome to form their own packages.   Not only are our courses the most affordably priced but we also offer easy payment options.

Uniforms and Stationery

  1. Students are required to purchase their own uniform from Lesley Anne Creation – 316 Florence Nightingale Drive, Westcliff, Chatsworth – 031 4038829
  2. Students are required to purchase from the college: Student kits, Manicure rolls and Bed rolls.
  3. Uniform: Formal Black Pants, Cerise Shirt from Lesley Anne Creation, Flat pumps, Hair to be tied back – away from the face, Stud earrings, Black Jerseys and light makeup daily.
  4. Students are required to purchase cotton pads (clicks), 2 Large Bath Sheets,3 hand towels (light pink and not cerise)
  5. Student Files, Stationery.

Payment Information

  1. All cash fee and deposit payments are due prior to course commencement.
  2. Instalment payments must be paid on or before the first of every month with final payment due prior to course completion.
  3. A suitable debit order date is to be discussed and completed on registration.
  4. Payments not included in the debit order can be made via EFT, deposits at any STANDARD BANK Advance ATM or via credit or debit cards at our offices.
  5. Any returned debit order payments will be subject to a penalty fee.
  6. Interest will be charged on late payments.
  7. Failure to make timeous payments will result in exclusion from further lessons, withholding of kits and results.
  8. Instalment options not done within the agreed timeframe will be defaulted on to the next instalment plan.
  9. If you require an extended study and payment plan, please speak to us.
  10. Additional Costs Payable for Additional national and international exams (or certification) not covered within the course

Loan Assistance

GRADUATION PACKAGE

Learners that have passed will be allowed to graduate.  Graduation cost for Graduates is R1800.  Learners will be notified via a memo on their class groups. Graduation is a fully catered function with meals etc.
